Burlington VT Wedding Photographer

Documentary wedding photography in Vermont's most vibrant city and surrounding Chittenden County

Burlington is Vermont's most vibrant city — and its wedding scene reflects that energy completely.

Lake Champlain to the west, the Green Mountains to the east, and a downtown that manages to feel both lively and deeply human. It's a city that photographs beautifully in every season, and one I know well. I've had the privilege of working at some of Burlington's most compelling venues — the Community Sailing Center on the waterfront, where Lake Champlain stretches out behind every frame; Hula Lakeside, a sleek and unexpected event space that brings something genuinely modern to the Vermont wedding scene; and Isham Family Farm in nearby Williston, where rolling pastures and a classic New England barn create the kind of backdrop that feels completely timeless.

I'm Alexis, a documentary wedding photographer based in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. Burlington is the market I know most intimately, and that familiarity shows up in my work here. I know where the light lands in the late afternoon on the waterfront. I know which corners of the city are worth wandering into during portrait time. And I know that Burlington couples tend to have a vision, a sense of humor, and people genuinely worth photographing — my job is to stay ready and pay attention while your day unfolds naturally around you.

The greater Burlington area offers more variety than almost anywhere else in Vermont. From waterfront ceremonies overlooking Lake Champlain to barn receptions tucked into the Chittenden County countryside, there's no single version of a Burlington wedding — and that's exactly what makes it exciting to photograph. The Essex Resort & Spa, Hotel Champlain, and the Intervale Center Community Barn are among the venues that make this region such a compelling place to celebrate, and the list keeps growing.

If you're planning a wedding in Burlington or anywhere in Chittenden County, I would love to be there for your day.

Hey, I’m Alexis

I show up ready to work — and I mean that in every sense. Yes, I'm there to photograph your day, but I'm also there to help. Guys don't know how to pin a boutonnière? I'm on it. Need a lint roller? I've got one. Hair falling out mid-getting-ready? I've got extra bobby pins. Pocket square needs folding? Done. I've even pitched in to get venues decorated when things fell behind. A couple once told me they could tell I actually love my job — and honestly, that's because I do. Whatever your day needs, I'm ready for it.
