Franconia New Hampshire Wedding Photographer

Storytelling wedding photography in the quiet heart of the western White Mountains.

Western New Hampshire has a quieter magic than the busier parts of the White Mountains — and Franconia sits right at the heart of it.

Franconia Notch, Echo Lake, the Kinsman Ridge stretching out above the valley — this is the kind of landscape that makes couples drive hours out of their way just to say their vows here. As a Vermont-based photographer with deep roots in northern New England, this region feels like natural territory to me. The Northeast Kingdom and the western White Mountains share the same unhurried energy, the same honest beauty — and I feel completely at home on both sides of the Connecticut River.

I'm Alexis, a documentary wedding photographer who photographs weddings candidly and honestly — real moments, real emotion, and minimal posing. Franconia rewards that approach completely. There's nothing manufactured about this landscape, and the couples who choose to get married here tend to reflect that — drawn to something genuine over something showy, something rooted over something trendy.

The venues here are exceptional. The Franconia Inn is one of those rare places that feels genuinely inseparable from its surroundings — a classic country inn set among working fields and mountain views that shift beautifully with the seasons. Owl's Nest Resort in nearby Thornton offers something more expansive, with lakeside ceremony spaces and a patio overlooking Franconia Notch that is frankly hard to beat. And for couples drawn to the energy of a mountain resort, Loon Mountain's RiverWalk Resort brings something bold and beautiful to a stunning stretch of the Pemigewasset River.

Portrait opportunities here are exceptional in every season — fall foliage blazing along the Franconia Notch Parkway, wildflower fields in the height of summer, snow draped pines in the deep of winter. Whatever season you choose, this landscape shows up for you.

If you're planning a wedding in Franconia or anywhere in the western White Mountains, I would genuinely love to hear about your day.

Hey, I’m Alexis

I show up ready to work — and I mean that in every sense. Yes, I'm there to photograph your day, but I'm also there to help. Guys don't know how to pin a boutonnière? I'm on it. Need a lint roller? I've got one. Hair falling out mid-getting-ready? I've got extra bobby pins. Pocket square needs folding? Done. I've even pitched in to get venues decorated when things fell behind. A couple once told me they could tell I actually love my job — and honestly, that's because I do. Whatever your day needs, I'm ready for it.
